The Miss Amazing pageant made for girls and women with disabilities brought out contestants from all over Illinois ready to shine for friends and family.
“It’s just a great thing for girls with disabilities especially since often times girls with disabilities are often ignored by other people, it’s just a fact you know, so it’s a great time to feel special and just have fun really,” said Nicole Minassian, Illinois National Miss Amazing Teen 2015.
Throughout the day the participants learned stage presence, the importance of giving back to their community and even made new friends.
“I like meeting new friends,” said contestant of the Miss Amazing pageant, Becky.
And that’s what the event was all about, connecting girls alike and giving them a chance to show off their beauty.
Every participant was crowned the title of princess, but there was only one queen awarded in each age group.
