For the 32nd straight year, Naperville residents took out their six irons to raise money for children.
The annual Mayor’s Golf Outing asked golfers to pay for their round of golf as usual, but the total money at the end the day went to different city charities for children.
“During this time when we have some concerns with the use of heroin, with suicide and things like that — that’s what we want to raise our money for, in order to help make a difference,” said Naperville Mayor George Pradel.
The DuPage Children’s Museum, Little Friends and Our Children’s Homestead were some of the participating charities.
Last year’s outing raised over $35,000.
