Frozen pizzas, vegetables, and turkeys were flying from the freezer to the shopping cart.
Mayor George Pradel recently completed his annual two and a half minute shopping spree to benefit Loaves and Fishes Community Pantry.
This year, Pradel racked up more than $700 worth of food to donate to local families.
“I know that it will help people for the next couple weeks to have some food on their table,” says Mayor Pradel.
The Midwest Frozen and Refrigerated Food Association organizes the event as part of National Frozen Food Month. Jewel Osco donated everything Pradel brought to the register.
The mayor has participated in similar shopping sprees with Loaves and Fishes multiple times a year for the past four years.
