This past year marked big milestones for many Naperville organizations.
The DuPage Children’s Museum began educating children through play 25 years ago. In July, they held a party to kick off their yearlong celebration with 1,800 kids and parents.
Hundreds of thousands attendees enjoyed ribs, music, and rides for the 25th time this year at the Exchange Club’s Ribfest. In the event’s history the group has raised more than$12,000,000 that goes back into the community to charities that serve kids.
NCTV17 also hit the quarter century mark of providing local television programming to the city. The anniversary year included an open house and the premiere of the original documentary “Our Story,” showcasing a day in the life of Naperville.
The Naperville Art League celebrated their golden anniversary, fostering creativity throughout the city for 50 years. They annually hold the Riverwalk Fine Art Fair displaying and selling local art.
North Central College wrapped up their year long sesquicentennial celebration at their June graduation.
And looking to next year, the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce will celebrate their 100th year beginning in January.
