As North Central College wraps up their year long Sesquicentennial Celebration, they are also looking forward to the future.
School officials broke ground on the new Riverwalk Gateway into campus at their annual Cornerstone Day.
“This is really an area that we have a lot of celebration in this community and it’s time for this fence to come down,” said Karen Solomon, President of the Naperville Riverwalk Foundation.
Each year the college hosts a community picnic and residents are invited to campus to celebrate together. For the first time, many Naperville restaurants helped cater the event instead of only the college. The annual event commemorates the college’s move to Naperville in 1870, when the first cornerstone of Old Main was laid.
