Locally Shot Film Premieres

Lights camera action! It was a special night for Edmond Coisson, as his film, “Precious Mettle”, had its world premiere.

“It’s a dream come true. I have wanted to do this all my life and at 7, like every other kid in the world, decided I wanted to be an actor but found I had an knack for writing and directing and now I am living my life dream,” he said.

Coisson started the screenplay nearly ten years ago with his wife, Glessna. Later on Leonard Brink signed on as a producer and co- writer, making the film possible.

The movie was shot locally during the summer of 2013. Downtown Naperville, a home in Aurora and other recognizable locations set the scene for the drama.

For some actors in the film, like Rochelle native Jodi Russell, it was a chance to come home.

“It was really nice to come home and my mother’s never been to set so she got to come out and see me work she got the opportunity to be an extra, so she’s a movie star now,” she said.

And for others, it felt just like it.

“Whenever I come back to the Chicago and Naperville area it’s just like coming back to my second home. I love Chicago and I really love Naperville,” said Joe Estevez.

Precious Mettle is the story of mystery, murder and second chances. Coisson was inspired to write the script after witnessing a friend’s downfall with heroin addiction.

They’re hoping the message of the movie can help educate others about addiction.

“If we can save the life of just one, one person throughout the course of the movies then I would say this was a success,” Edmond and Glessna Coisson said.
