Living Windows Holiday Display

Kidz Kabaret put on its first ever holiday Living Windows display.  Downtown Naperville Alliance’s Katie Wood approached the organization’s Executive Director Kandiss Hernandez with the idea, after Kidz Kabaret had done a similar event to celebrate the release of the latest Harry Potter book.

Roughly 20 high-schoolers acted out scenes from popular Christmas and winter-themed movies inside seven different store fronts from 5pm to 9pm for one night only.  Those films include Frozen, Home Alone, Elf, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and The Penguins of Madagascar.

During the entire four hours, the actors had to use their creative to come alive without words and children of all ages – and adults – seemed to love it.

Hernandez says they may consider doing this event next year, as well as similar living windows for additional holidays such as Easter.
