Regis Philbin was “Live!” in Naperville this week. The Emmy award-winning entertainer came to North Central College’s Wentz Concert Hall to promote his new book, How I Got This Way.
Philbin is best known for his program Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee and its following show, Live! with Regis and Kelly. He also hosted Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
Philbin now holds the Guinness World Record for most hours on camera and the new book talks about some of those moments.
“It’s about the 30 people in my life who have inspired me, influenced me, that I met somewhere along the way who made me want to be better and do better,” said Philbin.
Philbin shared stories and memories with the audience, who also received an autographed copy of the book.
“I have been watching Regis since it was Regis and Kathie Lee, and I was just so excited he was coming,” said Nicole LeDonne, a Senior at North Central College.
“I kind of way to take over for him,” said Sean Lynch, a North Central Freshman. “Go to New York and call it Sean and Kelly.”
North Central partnered with Anderson’s Bookshop to bring Philbin to campus as a part of the college’s Sesquicentennial Author Series.
