A local resident may get the chance to experience life in the “fab” lane at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The Promenade Bolingbrook is looking for aspiring stylists 13 and up for Project Style 2012.
The shopping center is one of 15 malls across America taking part in the award-winning online fashion competition.
Participants got a free gift card to buy an outfit at the Promenade.
They then showed off their styling skills by posting pictures and a short video on the mall’s website.
Naperville resident Michelle Thomas won the first round, and Bolingbrook’s Racquel Hickenbottom is the second finalist. They’ll go up against 3 other stylists in a Promenade runway show in September.
“It’s really a great way for people to show what their style is and how it’s different,” said Kris Kuchler, Marketing Director at Promenade Bolingbrook. “Everyone can just walk into Macy’s and buy the outfit that’s on the mannequin.”
The Promenade winner will go against the rest of the malls for the chance to compete in the national style-off judged by fashion celebrities Nick Verros of Project Runway and Jeannie Mai of Style Network’s How Do I Look?
The grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to New York City during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
