Lego Exhibit

A new exhibit is building up excitement through its unique take on nature.

Almost half a million Lego bricks are featured in the Nature Connects: Art with Lego Bricks by Sean Kenney installment. Nature’s beauty is captured in 13 different displays and 27 individual sculptures throughout the outdoor exhibit.

“We are so excited because it is a great way to think about nature a little bit differently. And here at the Morton Arboretum, we are all about trees. So, every living thing connects, trees, insects, birds, animals, just like the Lego bricks connect. So, people come out and they start thinking about this great world we live in,” says Cindy Crosby, Interpretation Program Coordinator at the Morton Arboretum.

It took more than 4000 hours for Kenney and his team of 17 to create the exhibit, which seamlessly blends the blocks into the background.

This is the only place in the Chicagoland area you can catch the display, which is open through November first and comes free with admission.

The museum will be offering several Lego themed events and activities through the run of the exhibit.
