Naper Settlement may soon have a new play area for young children.
Staff wants to build a learning playscape at the existing Fort Payne structure.
The project would include a playground and log, sand, and water play areas. It is expected to cost $340,000.
At their most recent meeting, City Council granted the Settlement permission to apply for an Open Space Land Acquisition and Development grant to fund half the project. The Naperville Heritage Society will pay the rest.
If they receive the grant the Settlement hopes to break ground on the playscape next year.
