The case of a man who is suing a local bar after he was stabbed is moving forward.
Lawyers for both Feature’s Bar and Grill Inc. and William Hayes recently appeared in court where they agreed on continuing the case for 45 days as they wait on results of blood alcohol levels and try to hammer out a settlement.
Hayes has filed a lawsuit asking for more than $50,000 from Frankie’s Blue Room and owner Riff Menza for over serving Daniel Olaska, who allegedly stabbed Hayes and killed Shaun Wild in February 2012.
The lawsuit, filed in late January, says that Hayes “suffered severe and permanent injuries” and will be hindered and prevented from attending to his usual duties and affairs.
Olaska is currently in DuPage County Jail awaiting trial.
The next court date for the civil suit is set for September 25th.
