Lawsuit Continues in Naperville Township

The Naperville Township highway commissioner is not letting go of his lawsuit

Stan Wojtasiak is appealing the judge’s ruling that the township board was justified in reducing his budget by more than 20 percent in May.

The cut they made was about $544,000. That’s the same sum which the city of Naperville said the township would save if they entered into a consolidation deal for the maintenance of the township’s roads: a move Wojtasiak opposed.

DuPage County Judge Bonnie Wheaton determined that the board had the final say in setting the budget for road district costs.

The lawsuit seeks to restore the road district’s budget to Wojtasiak’s original ask of about $2.6 million.

The Illinois Second District Appellate Court in Elgin will hear the case.
