Latex Paint Recycling Program

The Woodridge Greene Valley Wastewater Treatment Facility will accept latex-based paint that hasn’t been frozen, is less than 10 years old and hasn’t been mixed with other products.

“This is an item that can’t be accepted through the traditional waste streams. It can’t be accepted at the household hazardous waste facility that’s being run in Naperville. It’s not recyclable, so this is the best way that we can dispose of this,” said Anthony Michelassi, Chairman of the DuPage Environmental Committee.

Once enough paint has been collected, it will be filtered and re-blended into a variety of colors, types and finishes and distributed back to residents, businesses and non-profits for free.

Latex paint can be dropped off or picked up now through July 29.
