“Head down to Springfield and check out the Lincoln sites. Or maybe out to Galena and Dubuque. Dubuque has the Mississippi River center, something a little more on the educational side,” said Trevino.
For those that like the sand in their toes but prefer it a little closer to home, centennial beach is offering numerous ways to beat the summer heat.
“For the remainder of the season membership passes are 50% off and we have a number of events going on throughout summer, our adult floats that run every Saturday and Sunday up until Labor Day from 9am to 10:55. If you are a member we do have a members only event, where only our members will be able to access the facility,” said Brad Wilson, Director of Recreation for the Naperville Park District.
