The first night of Naperville’s summer send off was full of fun, games, and a few severe storms.
Despite the 90-degree temperature Last Fling attendees still lined up for tickets when the gates opened at 5:00pm.
“I’ve been coming since I was little and thought being a senior it’d be cool to come back,” said Naperville Resident, Mason Giriori.
High temperatures were the least of the crowds worry when officials temporarily closed down the event due to severe weather, urging everyone to take shelter. Many high schools in the area cancelled sporting events.
Back at the fling, thunderstorms didn’t mean the fun had to stop.
“In true Jaycee fashion we still have the party going,” Beverage Chairman, Mark Colman said.
After a 2-hour delay, the fling was open for business…and with that the grills fired back up, and people rushed to the stage…
“Its going to be a great weekend, the storms are over its going to be an awesome time,” said Executive Director of Food Vendors, Beth Degeeter.
The severe weather didn’t stop the good time for a great cause. Jerrod Neimann is about to take the stage behind me and sure to end the night with a party.
The country star took the stage right on time, performing hits like Lover Lover and, One More Drinkin’ Song.
