A certain Lantern will illuminate the streets of Naperville once again. Management at The Lantern Tavern and Grill in downtown Naperville recently re-opened their doors after closing in November. According to Katie Wood, Executive Director of the Downtown Naperville Alliance, the restaurant closed due to a change in management, and modest redecorating and maintenance issues. With the closed sign down residents packed the iconic bar and grill for the lunch rush on re-opening day.
“All the regulars are here. We’re having a good time. Enjoying some good food and a beer here and there and we are happy to have them back,” Doug Finny, Naperville resident.
“This is like our second home. Homey atmosphere and everybody knows each other, so it’s a great time. We’re pretty excited,” said Andrew Wulbecker, Naperville resident.
While changes were made, the lantern regulars say the food and drinks all seemed the same.
