The record breaking cold hasn’t stopped the Knoch Knolls Nature Center construction from staying on schedule.
Heating and cooling systems were recently installed as well as plumbing, insulation and a sprinkler system.
The nature center will focus on “celebrating water” intertwining the exploration of the DuPage River which flows through the park and will feature an aquarium.
The center will function as an example of environmental sustainability and is scheduled to open later this year
“Amazingly with the winter we’ve had, construction has been progressing very well and we are looking forward to a summer, early fall opening and we will have a grand opening to celebrate that,” said the Naperville Park District Director of Marketing and Communication, Sameera Luthman.
