BlackFinn American Saloon is one step closer to being a brand new establishment.
At their latest meeting, city council unanimously approved changing the code to allow four additional late night liquor licenses, including one for Jim Bergeron, owner of Jimmy’s Grill and soon to be owner of BlackFinn.
“The agreements are all signed, so really where we are, logistically of me taking over the property is fulfilling all of the state municipal requirements on licensing,” said Bergeron.
Bergeron already owns the site, and as landlord, he had taken measures to help BlackFinn move forward in a better direction following a series of violent acts and liquor violations.
The revamped 16 W. Jefferson will have a new name, new management and focus more on food than liquor.
Bergeron hopes to open as soon as possible to change the dynamics and get safety back where it needs to be in the downtown.
