Over at Anderson’s Bookshop, books are flying off the shelves thanks to Jan’s Book Angels.
Annually, customers are invited to help area residents who are in need of a book for the holiday season.
Anderson’s pairs up with local organizations to display the names and ages of people in need of a book from infants through age 18, on two trees in the bookstore.
You can pick a tag and match that person with a book they might enjoy.
“We then take the purchase, we wrap the books, package them up and then the organization will pick them up from our store,” said Sue Skells, School Accounts Manager with Anderson’s Bookshop.
Customers who buy a Book Angel book will get ten percent off their purchase.
Anderson’s is accepting Book Angel purchases through the end of December and are also looking for volunteer wrappers.
Jan’s Book Angels was named after retired Anderson’s Bookshop employee Jan Dundon who is a big supporter of the program.
