Actress and author Jamie Lee Curtis visited Longwood Elementary School, encouraging kids to get creative.
“Every single one of you have ideas, which means every single one of you is a writer. You are no different than me, I’m just a little older than you are, but every person who has ideas in their head can be a writer, I’m living proof,” said Curtis.
Curtis also read from her latest book, ‘This Is Me: A Story of Who We Are And Where We Came From,’ which focuses on family history and immigration.
“My great grandmother came from a far distant place. She came on a boat with just this small case,” Curtis read from her book.
At the end, students were asked what three things they’d bring with them if they had to move to another country, just like the kids in the book!
‘This Is Me’ is Jamie Lee Curtis’ 11th children’s book.
