Precious Mettle is a story of mystery, murder, addiction, and second chances. The movie happens to be the life work of local film guru, Edmond Coisson.
After witnessing a friend’s downfall with heroin addiction, the idea was born and Edmond and his wife Glessna started writing the script.
“We made a short film of it, very low budget, and shopped it around L.A. and told everyone how good it was and they said ‘Where is it?’ We came home and we got busy. A year and a half ago we met Len, and he was in our office and said ‘What is this?’ And we told him it was our screenplay, and he asked to read it, and called us back that night and said ‘We’ve got to make this, this is excellent’,” said Glessna Coisson.
Leonard Brink, was the missing piece to the puzzle, a Naperville resident himself, his extensive background in psychiatric social work, helped bring the harsh reality of addiction into the script. Amorak Productions was brought on to the project and shooting started around town.
“Naperville is a beautiful place, that has a little bit of everything. You have affluent neighborhoods, middle, working class neighborhoods, a university, a Riverwalk, just every aspect makes it that perfect Midwest town,” said Brink.
Precious Mettle stars film legend Paul Sorvino, who let us know how he taps into his gritty role.
“I know what it is to love someone, I have two daughters and a son, I’ve had two wives so I know all about that, so it came easily,” said Paul Sorvino.
The tips and tricks from the star came in handy, NCTV17’s very own Jordan Abudayyeh and Tharryn Wright will be featured as a reporter and cameraman in the film.
Precious Mettle is set to premiere sometime next year.
