The presidential race has brought a lot of attention to immigration and immigration reform, and citizens in Naperville are taking time to get informed.
To aid in the effort, the AAUW Naperville chapter hosted a discussion on the topic of immigration.
The group invited Shirley Sadjadi, an attorney working in the immigration field for 20 years and Susan Bachmeier, who emmigrated from Peru in 2002 – to shed a light on the laws in our country after experiencing them first hand.
Following a presentation, attendees were able to speak with the women, and get their own questions answered.
“In light of the discussion of immigration from the Republican candidates. This was a topic of interest, we wanted to get up to date information, factual information, and be informed,” said Elaine Fischer, Chair Co-President of AAUW.
The group typically meets once a month.
