‘Tis the season for light shows, and the Morton Arboretum’s 2nd annual “Illumination” is so advanced, it’s already nominated for the best public lights display in the USA.
This spectacle hosts a mile of innovative lights, projections, and interactive features like “hug a tree” where illuminated junipers respond to visitor touch.
Onlookers can also enjoy a hot chocolate or spiced cider while walking through the new “Symphony Woods,” a display choreographed to the music of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
And if you get too chilly, live entertainment will be played inside the Ginkgo restaurant every Saturday and Sunday.
Illumination runs through January 3, 2015. Doors open daily at 5 P.M. and the show runs until the lights go out at 9:30. A full schedule and tickets can be found at mortonarb.org.
