The Illinois Hospital Association (IHA) that is based in Naperville is supporting Governor Quinn’s proposal to maintain current income tax levels.
The lobbying group represents over 200 hospitals and nearly 50 health systems across the state.
They say rolling back the temporary tax increase will cause devastating cuts to services, including health care.
If the tax is rolled back the state will lose $1.6 billion dollars in revenue.
Republicans in the General Assembly say the cuts will not be catastrophic like the governor is saying.
