Though there wasn’t much snow to mush, the packed audience at the 13th Annual Husky Heroes event still had a dog-gone good time.
The Morton Arboretum teamed up with local rescue group, Adopt-A-Husky, for a showcase of sledding, speed and strength.
“It’s a great event for people to meet Siberian Huskies, find out about them, find out about dogs that need to be adopted and just find out about sledding in general. We have a great time doing this every year,” said Treasurer for Adopt-A-Husky, Noel Dagley.
After the demonstrations, visitors could pose for pictures with the rescued huskies and even apply to adopt one.
Each year more than 100 huskies are rescued. If you would like to make one a part of your family, check out adoptahusky.com.
