More than 1,100 people took a stroll through downtown Naperville for the fifth annual “Step Up for Autism” walk. The not-for-profit “Little Friends” holds the event as one of its largest fundraisers in which teams raise money and then walk one and half miles to raise awareness.
About one in every 88 newborns are expected to be diagnosed with Autism. The proceeds from Step Up for Autism will go directly towards serving local children and adults with the disease and other development disorders, including services like family support, therapy, and recreational activities.
