This year’s Last Fling music lineup is packed with stars like Lance Bass, Cheap Trick, and the Gen-X Summer Tour.
Those acts and more are all appearing on the main stage on Rotary Hill.
And while the music is always a huge draw for the Fling, there’s so much more on offer at Naperville’s Labor Day festival.
“We have added a lot of special events,” said Corinne Cozort, one of the co-executive directors of the 2018 Last Fling. “There’s everything from eating contests to a dog look-a-like contest to senior bingo. Additionally in Family Funland, we have Medieval Times and they’re doing a paper crown world record.”
The current record for most people wearing paper crowns at once is 1,324. The Naperville Jaycees will attempt to top that number on Sunday at 1:45 p.m. in Family Funland, where there is also now a five dollar cover.
A schedule of all the special events is available on www.lastfling.com, where you’ll also find information on free parking, shuttle services, and other logistics.
Another option for carnival-goers is the Carnival Mega Pass, which, for $60, will provide unlimited rides for the entire weekend.
Unfortunately, there is potential rain in the forecast and the Jaycees encourage festival-goers to stay in the loop about weather-related cancellations.
“There are some, sadly, rains forecasted for this weekend,” said Cozort. “If people want to keep up with that, we will keep our social media, including Twitter and Facebook, updated as much as possible and in real time as quickly as possible.”
But the executive team is staying optimistic for another year of philanthropic fun.
