Simply Vedic Cultural Society hosted the Festival of Colors, also known as Holi, which was recently held at the Riverwalk’s Grand Pavilion.
This event was a way to bid farewell to winter and welcome spring. Folks celebrated the new energy of the season by tossing organic dyed flour at one another, as a symbolic way to forgive and forget while throwing their worries to the wind.
“It’s like an Indian tradition and Holi is like always part of every year, we always do this and in India they have way more, so this is kind of just a way to get back to India. It’s also really fun for us and it’s a great experience,” said Krish, Participant at Festival of Colors.
The free event also included music, food and dancing for everyone to enjoy. This has been the not-for-profit’s biggest fundraiser since their start in 2008.
