The Sabre Hockey girls team recently held a shoot-a-thon at All Seasons Ice Arena, hoping to raise some money for a family member of one of their teammates, who is awaiting a heart transplant.
Cody Radman has a six-year-old niece named Kayden, who is at Ann Lurie Children’s Hospital, diagnosed with severe heart failure and cardiomyopathy.
To support Kayden, the team received pledges from family members and friends before their 30 second shoot out, and as a team, they racked up 138 goals raising just over $1200.
Although this hasn’t been the easiest time for the family, their spirits are constantly lifted by the kindness of others.
“The community and the support has been absolutely amazing that we all cry reading all these letters and notes but we’re dealing with it the best way we can,” said Kim Radman, Grandmother of Kayden.
Kayden has been receiving prayers and support from people all over the world including Rome, Spain and Poland.
Her family has also started an online fundraiser that has brought in over $50,000 in donations. You can show your support by going to GoFundMe.com/KaydenTanner.
