The memory of a Naperville notable lives on through a recent donation to the Edward Cancer Center.
Recently, the Phil Lawler Batting 4 a Cure Foundation presented a $20,000 check to the facility to help fund patient programs and services.
The money was raised through a recent golf outing they held at Tamarack Golf Course.
Lawler, the foundation’s namesake, made a huge impact both in Naperville and throughout the country, as a tireless advocate for quality physical education.
His vision helped launch PE4Life, a not-for-profit that assists in the development and enhancement of P.E. programs and physical activity opportunities in schools and communities.
After he lost his battle with cancer in 2010, Lawler’s daughter Kim created the foundation to honor her father’s legacy by creating a positive impact in the lives of Naperville families affected by cancer.
