Most homeowners don’t realize it, but there could be dangerous pollutants aggravating your health right in your home.
Everything from dust mites and bacteria, to carbon monoxide and viruses can be floating around your house, fortunately, there are ventilation systems that can improve the air you breathe.
“When it comes to filtration systems you can have anything from a passive one inch filter just collecting the largest particulate and hair and protecting your heating and cooling equipment,” said Mike Bakker, the Owner of Dutchman Heating and Cooling. “Or you can start going to a media filter, which will start cleaning a lot of the dust out of the air. By cleaning the dust out of the air you can expect to dust a lot less in your home, maybe about half.”
Other tips for proper ventilation include leveling the air exchange, keeping the humidity around 45% to kill dust mites, and adding a UV light over the air conditioning coil to get rid of the mold.
If you’re building a home or undergoing construction in Naperville, there’s a new code in place for proper ventilation usage.
