Edward – Elmhurst Healthcare is launching a new initiative for 2015: Healthy Driven, focusing on a healthy lifestyle for those in and out of the hospital.
The program aims to combine the efforts of Edward and Elmhurst Hospitals to focus on a healthy lifestyle for patients, and the greater community.
“We want to be affiliated with the patient at home as well, how their family is doing. We have little gimmicks and serious plans that will help people stay healthy whether its managing their diabetes or simply adjusting their eating or exercising at least three times a week,” said CEO of Edward – Elmhurst Health Centers, Pam Davis.
NASCAR star Danica Patrick is behind the wheel of the new campaign, serving as its spokesperson. She’ll be rolling out T.V. and radio ads and making appearances to help get the word out.
The program’s launch served as a holiday party for Edward employees – who enjoyed themed games, healthy food, and wrote down their reasons for living a healthy driven lifestyle.
“We are so excited to be starting this, we’re celebrating all week with our employees to get everybody into the holiday spirit and be healthy driven through it,” said Davis.
Edward had further cause for celebration – receiving their second re-designation as a magnet hospital for nursing excellence.
Nationwide, only 7% of hospitals are recognized with this award from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, which honors hospitals with excellent patient care.
Nearly 200 Edward nurses and senior executives were at the ceremony for the announcement, held on the Edward campus.
