18 giant golf balls and sphere shaped chairs will be scattered throughout the downtown area as part of the Downtown Naperville Alliance’s sculpture series.
Local artists, businesses and schools will decorate the chairs however they like, to be unveiled on Father’s Day weekend.
“We like to try and do sculptures that are interactive, and so these chairs obviously people can sit in. They have a little carved out area that has a seat to them and so when people are shopping and dining downtown they can sit and enjoy. And how often can you say you sat in a golf ball,” said Executive Director of the Downtown Naperville Alliance, Katie Wood.
In season’s past, sculptures have included trains, cars and gingerbread men.
