Kids can now swing by one of the newest parks in Naperville.
The Naperville Park District recently celebrated the opening of Harris Fawell Park.
The newly designed playground features state of the art equipment and designs based on input from the surrounding neighbors.
Kids will be able to enjoy the monkey bars, stepping stones, and additional shading trees along the sidewalk. The playground includes separate play structures for two to five year olds and five to 12 year olds.
“The neighborhood parks are probably one of our, outside of trails, a high demand item but playgrounds are a high demand, high usage item. You’ll come almost any time there is halfway decent weather, the kids will be out here using the playgrounds,” said Ron Ory, Commissioner and Vice President of the Naperville Park District.
Naperville celebrated the park as well as Harris Fawell, a former congressman dedicated to improving the community with the addition of parks and playgrounds.
Adjacent to the new park is the baseball field where Harris Fawell and Mayor Pradel used to be the dynamic duo in the infield.
