The four republicans in the race for governor came to Naperville to address issues at the heart of the election.
With Illinois having the third highest unemployment rate in the nation behind Nevada and Rhode Island, the candidates discussed how as governor, they’ll help improve the state’s economy and create jobs.
State senators Kirk Dillard and Bill Brady State Treasurer Dan Rutherford and business man Bruce Rauner also debated topics like Medicaid, taxes, pension reform, and the minimum wage.
Fox political reporter Mike Flannery moderated the discussion, while the Illinois Manufactures Association and Valley Industry Association sponsored the event at the Marriott Hotel off Diehl Road.
The candidates will be vying for the GOP nomination for governor during the primary on March 18th, with the main election in November.
