More than 2,000 District 204 high school seniors from Neuqua Valley, Waubounsie Valley, and Metea Valley High Schools received their diplomas on May 26th in Dekalb.
At all three ceremonies, camera flashes beamed from the outside edges of the arena while families and friends captured their graduates filing into their seats.
Each commencement began with a few short speeches from students and faculty. Metea Valley Principal James Schmidt, expressed how much he admired the very first graduating class of Metea Valley High School. He said, “There will never be another class like you.”
The new graduates of Waubounsie, Neuqua, and Metea Valley high school celebrated with the toss of their caps before eagerly rushing out to say goodbye to their classmates and move on to the next stage of their lives.
