Google Expedition

Partnering with Google Expeditions, teachers at Lincoln Junior High brought their classes on an immersive virtual journey through the Seven Wonders of the World.

From the Taj Mahal to the Great Wall of China, teachers guided students through up close and personal experiences, taking their learning to a whole new level.

“Now with computers, and with technology such as Google Expedition, you can bring the world to your students. Just hearing the ‘oohs’ and ‘ahs’ as they get to see these places and explore on their own, get 360 panoramas, I mean, this is stuff that a 2D image in a textbook can’t give them,” said Ed Casey, a Social Studies teacher at Lincoln Junior High.

The expedition offers more than 150 engaging journeys, making it that much easier for educators to bring lessons to life.

Google is currently working on a beta version of the application, which will be available for schools to try later this spring.
