A Naperville resident has been recognized for her poetry.
Glenna Holloway recently won the Illinois Senior Poet Laureate Award for the third time.
The award is a part of an annual poetry competition for people 50 years and older.
She won earlier in 2009 with “Losing the Farm” and again 2010 with her poem “Hunger Moon.”
Holloway has just published a book of poems titled “Never Far From Water and Other Love Stories.”
The book contained this year’s winning entry, “Gift Horse.”
“I was always into art and photography and to me poetry is like painting with words,” said Glenna Holloway.
Holloway has always been heavily involved in the poetry community and is the founding president of the Illinois State Poetry Society.
