Local families recently got the chance to learn fun ways to get active.
The YMCA hosted its annual Healthy Kids Day, a nationwide event that aims to promote a healthier lifestyle for children.
Here in Naperville, families came out to both the Kroehler and Fry Y’s to learn about different exercises and ways to eat better.
Kids could learn new dances, jump around, shoot hoops, or try a healthy snack.
“It shows kids that there are options for them to do different types of exercise to continue to be healthy and also different choices of healthy foods,” said Loretta Sander, Healthy Kids Day Organizer at the Kroehler YMCA.
There were more than fitness activities. Kids could also explore police cars and ambulances, and learn about different groups and activities across town from different vendors.
