Gentler Times Stitching has joined with American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine as part of a nation wide charity event.
The One Million Pillowcase Challenge encourages communities to join together and contribute hand made pillowcases to local charities.
Donations will be made to mutual ground in Aurora, which offers help to victims of domestic violence as well as almost home kids, a transitional home for children needing medical attention.
“That’s the great thing about the million pillowcase challenge, it allows for us to help our community, as well as support our kids in their sewing and celebrate them for that,” said Julie Koch
Gentler Times Stitching displayed the one of – a – kind cases they collected from local residents and schools, the contest was capped off with an award ceremony celebrating the originality and creativity of the designs.
This is the first year for the event, and over 130 pillowcases were donated
