Gearing up for Dancing with the Celebrities in Naperville- Part Two

“I think that pretty much everyone else is at a one or two, and we’re at a nine or ten so I think we’re going to pretty much blow everyone away,” said Adam Stachowiak, Celebrity Competitor in Dancing with the Celebrities.

Confidence is not an issue for Adam Stachowiak, the C.O.O. of MAAK Investments & Third Party Pets, as he prepares to take the stage in this year’s competition.

He and his partner will be dancing a Cha-Cha, a dance that sometimes goes a little better with some extra motivation.

“I did make the discovery that he dances much harder if I bring treats,” said Jamie Hinds, Adam’s Professional Dance partner.

“Cookies make me dance better,” said Stachowiak.

But they aren’t the only ones spicing things up with the Cha-Cha.

Cathy Subber, the Owner of Advanced Health of Naperville & The Naperville Mom’s Network is learning the key ingredients to this Latin dance from her partner Nick Rodriguez.

“You have to make sure she has the hips down, the attitude and the steps,” said Nicolas Rodriguez, Cathy’s Professional Dancer Partner.

“I have the attitude down, so everything is going well,” said Subber.

Also taking the stage is Brenda Harter, a community volunteer who’s not letting her inexperience in dance stop her from dipping into a new cause.

“The Community Career Center, we’re very passionate about that.” Said Harter.

“She’s been doing excellent, we’ve been hammering away at the dance and her tango, I remember the first lesson it was just walking around and now she’s got the whole routine and it’s been fun,” said James Dutton, Harter’s Professional Dance Partner.

And strutting things out to a bit of a sweeter dance, is celebrity competitor Jessica Sul, a Senior Accountant at Klein Hall CPA.

“The dance is called ‘Sweet like Cola,’ it’s a fun lively Cha-Cha number, we’ve got a couple of lifts and special things in there too to look forward to, but it’s been a lot of fun it has been,” said Kyle Rath, Sul’s Professional Dance Partner.

While everyone will come together to raise awareness for unemployment in our area, the competition will be fierce.

“I think we have some tough competition this year, I’m a little nervous, but I think we can handle it though, we can take ‘em,” said Sul.

The event takes place the evening of September 21st at Meson Sabika.
