After a summer with prices at the pump well over four dollars we are finally getting some relief.
The average price of a gallon of gas in Naperville has fallen more than 30 cents in the last month, and around ten cents in recent weeks.
Naperville’s average is still 12 cents higher than the national average, which as of August 15 sat at $3.54.
The drop in prices is typical for this time of year as demand winds down.
“Unless we see a hurricane come through, or have major refinery issues as we switch to the winter blend we should continue to see gas prices come down a little bit,” says Beth Mosher, spokesperson for AAA.
Over production is another contributing factor to the recent slash in prices.
