The south Naperville subdivision of High Meadow recently held their annual neighborhood garage sale, where residents can set up shop and clear out their shelves.
“We had a few things in our basement that we had been holding on to, so I though it was a great opportunity to get rid of a few things and hope someone else can benefit from them,” said garage sale participant Michele Capinus.
Getting rid of those old board games and trucks could add up to a high tech toy for the Capinus family. “We are hoping to buy an iPad for the family we thought it would be something fun for the kids and the whole family to use,” she added.
But not everyone holding a garage sale is just trying to clean house. The Vittrioso Family is eager to put the money toward a good cause, “my daughter and I are headed on a missions trip through our church, so we thought to use the garage sale as a fundraiser with all the proceeds going toward the mission trip,” said Jeanette Vittrioso of her families garage sale.
If you’re gearing up to have a garage sale this summer remember to clearly mark your prices and don’t be afraid to team up with friends and family to ensure a successful sale!
