Forest Preserve and DuPage County Collaboration Agreement

The DuPage County Board and the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County have officially reached a collaboration agreement.

Under the new terms, forest preserve and county leaders will identify mutually beneficial projects between the two governing bodies to share skills and vendors in order to deliver services to the public.

“It could be contract purchases, computer equipment, it could be shared other opportunities, we don’t have them specific, we asked those questions at our board meeting and it was left very open so that staff could bring to us what they felt was a good fit,” said Mary Lou Wehrli, District Five Commissioner for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County.

Each board will have final approval of shared services of a project before it would begin, to be sure neither group would lose power or services.

The forest preserve signed off on the agreement earlier this month.
