What’s better soccer or golf? How about both of them together. It’s called FootGolf.
It’s the new sport that’s gaining popularity by combining the greens of a golf course with the power of soccer.
Naperbrook golf course in Naperville recently decided to give it a shot and invited players to try out the course.
“Basically you’re playing golf with a soccer ball. We set the course up we have 18 holes on our front nine here at Naperbrook, you kick the ball, every time you kick it, it counts as one stroke, same as when you hit a golf ball, every time you hit it. We have some pins out on the course and you continually kick the ball until you get to the hole and count your score that way,” said Ed Provow, Director of Golf at Naperville Park District.
Naperbrook will continue to offer FootGolf Sunday through Thursday, from 2 p.m. until dark, up until the winter weather starts.
For a more in depth look at FootGolf, and hear from players who tried it out themselves, tune into Naperville News 17 on Friday at 6 p.m.
