Do you have overdue charges on your library card?
The Naperville Public Library is offering a different way to pay your fines.
For the second time, they are partnering with Loaves & Fishes in a program called Food for Fines.
Library patrons have the option of donating a non-perishable food item, household cleaning product, personal hygiene item, diaper pack, or paper goods product in place of paying a fee.
For every item brought in, a dollar will be waived. Up to $20 maximum can be taken off.
“We know that Loaves & Fishes is serving our neighbors and some of the people who are right here in the library and that’s wonderful,” said Chris Murray, Coordinator for Food for Fines and 95th Street Library Circulation Supervisor.
Everything will be donated to Loaves & Fishes. The last Food for Fines program in December raised 3 tons of food providing 6,000 meals.
The program runs through July 22nd.
