The latest Naperville Municipal Band Concert started off with a surprise.
Members of the Young Naperville Singers broke into song and dance in Central Park, creating a flash mob among a shocked audience.
More than 150 participants of all ages entertained the crowd with the song “Roam” by the B-52’s.
““I’ve been in Young Naperville Singers for 7 years and Mrs. Johnson came to us one day and said, ‘Oh it would be really fun to do a flash mob during one of the band concerts,’” said Shelbey Vandenbroucke a Young Naperville Singer who was a part of the flash mob. “So we all decided that would be really fun to do with the community.”
The flash mob was a collection of the singers and their family and friends.
This was the group’s first flash mob, which they performed after only three practices.
They then ended by singing the National Anthem and a song with the band.
The Young Naperville Singers is a youth children’s choir that has been a part of the community since 1984.
