A vibrant group stopped by North Central College to share their music and dance with the campus and community.
Las Guitarras de Espana, or The Guitars of Spain, is a Chicago-based flamenco group known throughout the United States. Their Spanish guitar-influenced world music ensemble is made up of singers, dancers, and musicians.
The flamenco group played to an attentive audience in Meiley-Swallow Hall as part of the college’s sixth annual Flamenco Festival which offered a number of events including free flamenco dance lessons, lectures from experts in the field, and the screening of the 2008 documentary “Nuestros Desaparecidos” followed by a meet and greet with director Juan Mandelbaum.
