This Flag Day there was a special celebration at the Judd Kendall VFW.
A fundraiser was held in honor of long time Naperville resident Jack Shiffler.
Partygoers hoped to raise funds to have Jack immortalized on the “Naperville Loves a Parade” mural downtown, since he has been a long time organizer of both the memorial day and labor day parades.
Schiffler was also honored with a flag from the first ever healing field of honor.
The Vietnam Vet says he is excited to be added to the mural and wants goofy painted on his shoulder.
